Baskin Robbins, McComb, Mississippi

One of the thing that surprised me the most on my first visit to Mississippi and Louisiana was the shortage of family ice cream shops, It is supposed to be hot there, and hot people are supposed to eat a lot of ice cream. Today we got ice cream at Baskin Robbins – do not get me wrong, I like this ice cream, and I have always found them to have a great variety of creative flavors, so here we surepising found ourselves getting ice cream.

Baskin Robbins offers a variety of interesting ice cream flavors, plenty of sundae choices and milkshakes. This shop was busy with both walk in and drive up customers. But there was plenty of friendly help, so we got plenty of attention so Don could get the perfect milkshake and I got a delicious sundae with chocolate sauce over black walnut ice cream -yummy.

Love it!

There was plenty seating both inside and outside the shop. It was beginning to rain so we opted for inside. It was a nice visit.

In the area: Bogue Chitto State Park in Franklington, Louisiana. I chose this park because of cool sandstone spires that I read were supposed to be there. When I paid the entrance fee I asked about them, the attendant said she had no idea what I was talikng about. Despite much of the park being closed due to flooding, I think we actually found a elusive (or fictional) sandstone spire. – and it was really cool

The park was beautiful and interesting with hardwood forest, boardwalks and plenty of flooding that made roads and hiking trails impassable. This park is worth the trip.
