Kilwins, Morristown, New Jersey

I love Morristown, NJ – it has a great atmosphere and is a pleasant walking city with plenty of shops and statues. One of these shops is Kilwins.

When we walked in, we saw a large variety of sweets – fudge, chocolates, caramel and chocolate covered apples, and best of all – ice cream

The ice cream selection was varied and interesting, all made at a different Kilwins location.

The server asked if I wanted to sample anything – an offer I am not capable of refusing. I tried the Marsh-Mallow S’mores – I was amazed at how well they caught the s’mores flavor. I then ordered a waffle cone with Blueberry Waffle Cone ice cream and Cappuccino Chocolate Chip ice cream. Cappuccino Chocolate Chip (Chunk would have been a better descriptor) was the prefect mix of creamy ice cream and chocolate pieces. The Blueberry Waffle Cone was also good, but I would have preferred blueberry pieces instead of waffle cone pieces – but I knew the flavor when I ordered it – why would anyone want waffle cone pieces in ice cream?.

Yummy!

Don and my father, also loved the ice cream- I wonder when I am 90 if I will be able to put as much ice cream away as my dad does.

Three happy people

Seating was outside at small metal tables with chairs. It is never too cold to enjoy ice cream!

In the area: Acorn Hall is a historic building in Morristown- an interesting place to tour when you are in the area.

Acorn Hall

Exhibits change from time to time and the tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly. The exhibit today was on women in the work force from 1870 until 1930. I learned that a milliner is a hat maker – not many of these are left. I also learned about the dress makers from that time frame and the horrible corsets women wore.
